Ar. Basheer believes that every person including you and me, has a deeper understanding of ourselves as individuals. We (Insight), as humans possess the innate ability to envision ourselves, reflect our beliefs and dreams into reality.
The mantra ‘a response is a design’ helped Insight (Est. 2002) to generate a diverse range of over 800 projects, a cause for celebration.
His thesis project, conceptualizing the International Sea Port & Trans-shipment Hub at Vizhinjam, was adopted by the Government of Kerala as a preliminary design for the project.
By the time he graduated, Saiju had already completed 12 building projects and launched his firm, Saiju Mohamed Associates, in 2001. He later moved the office to Thiruvananthapuram city, where he pioneered the Insight Card Consortium for Architectural Research and Design. Insight Architects, the consortium’s evolution, has completed over 500 diverse projects, ranging from minimalist residential homes to large-scale infrastructure projects, while staying true to its mantra: “A response is a design.”
A recipient of the Indian Institute of Architects (IIA) award for outstanding contributions, Saiju has served as Hon. Secretary of the IIA and remains a guest lecturer at prominent institutions. His work has been widely featured in media, and he continues to be a leading figure in the architectural landscape of Kerala.
